International Carrot Day - 4th April

Carrots have been cultivated for over a thousand years, with origins in Central Asia. Originally grown for medicinal purposes and valued for their roots rather than their familiar orange colour, carrots have since become one of the world’s most beloved vegetables. International Carrot Day, celebrated on 4th April, is a chance to appreciate both their versatility and natural nutritional value.

Carrots are packed with beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A to support healthy vision, skin, and immune function. They also contain fibre, potassium, and small amounts of vitamins C, K, and B6, contributing to overall wellbeing. Antioxidants in carrots, including lutein and zeaxanthin, may help protect cells from damage. While raw or lightly cooked carrots provide the highest nutritional benefits, incorporating them into foods like cakes allows for a delicious way to enjoy a hint of carrot goodness.

For office catering this year, Masons Kitchen is featuring carrots in our cake selections. These carrot cakes bring colour, flavour, and a subtle touch of natural carrot into your team meetings, client events, or workplace celebrations.

International Carrot Day is a reminder of how this humble root vegetable can be both tasty and beneficial. Celebrate with Masons Kitchen and add a sweet, vibrant treat to your next office catering order.
